While the Kallic execute their final solution over the Thale, they discuss what to do with the land around the village. It was outside of their forward lines and currently unfortified. Some wish to secure it, others thought it irreverent, since there would be many more villages like it in the coming months.
During the following days, news from the center of the horde reaches the fringe. The Husk has demanded a lifting on the ban on kin-slaying. As horrible as that sounds, she claims to have good reason. A cult has began to form inside of the Husk’s progeny. One so dangerous that, if it were to spread, the entire horde could be put at risk. The All-Khan and Mother of Mothers refuse to lift the ban. So the Husk takes matters into her own hands and has the tongues of the offenders cut out. She stated that, at least they could not spread their blasphemy any further.
What is so dire that could cause Kallic to turn against Kallic? Unfortunately, the discussion needed to be cut short. It was discovered that the Thale were mounting a counter offensive. The Kallic leadership had announced a withdrawal. While this action was successful, the rearguard were overwhelmed and destroyed by the Thale’s specialized war-beasts. These monstrosities seem to be the equal of three or four Kallic warriors. This coupled with the Thale mastery over tree movement has been a reoccurring problem for the Kallic.
Once the Kallic had reformed their battle-line, plans were laid on how to take the initiative back from the Thale. Each clan had their own ideas on how to best neutralize the Thale advantages. Hunting Owl and New Moon channel their efforts into modifying the tree cover to eliminate the movement advantage of the Thale. While Longstrider and Red Dove focused on attempting to teach their warriors various new tactics. Leading the attack would be Twin Peaks.
Be it miscommunication, or poor planning, the offensive commences without unity. Degana of Twin Peaks quickly improvises. If he can’t bring the Kallic to the Thale, then he shall bring the Thale to the Kallic. As the Thale begin to skirmish with the Kallic forward scouts, they are ordered to fall back towards the the clans who are working on the trees and training. Unfortunately the clans involved in the action are not able to delay the Thale, who punch through, slamming headlong into the other clans, who are all unaware. The combat is savage but brief. The Kallic take flight. The responsibility of the defeat is currently resting on Degana’s shoulders.
Effects of the skill rolls from last session (correct me if I am wrong):
-20 population from each clan
-1 morale from each clan
-1 to all of Degana’s social rolls when interacting with the Kallic Horde

I am going to add to this post later, with regards to Quor and Lorku journey, but it will have to wait. I have to check out of my hotel in Singapore and get on a 4 hour bus ride.
I will update the post when I can.
